Information Entered by Visitors
A name, phone number, or address typed into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the sponsored results. Rocklin Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If a visitor contacts us, the mailbox receives the information included in that message and uses it to answer the request.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, referrer information, and timestamps. Those ordinary server logs help diagnose faults and understand aggregate page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when enabled by the hosting or advertising providers.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the pages, address technical problems, measure traffic in aggregate, and improve the reference. Rocklin Residents Directory does not sell a visitor list and does not build an individual profile from the public-record subjects discussed on its pages.
Links Beyond This Service
Pages link to Placer County portals, California agencies, libraries, archives, courts, and third-party search tools. The privacy terms of each outside service govern information submitted there. Sponsored search results are supplied by a separate company, so its collection and use practices are not controlled by this policy.
Who Processes Log Data
Hosting and technical providers may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal demand requires it. No disclosure is made merely because a visitor asks for a government record; requests for those records belong with the relevant custodian.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection where supported by the host. Logs are retained only as long as the operational, security, or measurement purpose requires. There are no Rocklin Residents Directory accounts, passwords, or user profiles stored in the service for a visitor to manage.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent information may use the Contact page to request review and deletion of information held in our mailbox or logs.
California Privacy Choices
The California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq., gives qualifying consumers rights to know, correct, delete, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and opt out of sale or sharing by covered businesses. Because this reference retains little direct visitor data, a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.
Those business privacy rights do not erase an accurate deed, court record, voter file, vital record, or city record held by a public custodian. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, governs access to identifiable public records, not a request to this private reference to alter a government source. Removal or correction of a public record must go to the office that holds it.
Changes to This Policy
When the handling of visitor information changes, an updated version will be posted on this page. Continued use after the revised text appears indicates acceptance of the updated policy. The date of the latest revision may be added near the page title when needed.
