Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to Rocklin Residents Directory. By using the pages or following a linked resource, you accept these terms. If the terms are not acceptable, do not use the service.

1. The Nature of This Service

Rocklin Residents Directory is a privately operated reference for public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections connected with Rocklin, Placer County, and California. It does not own or host government records and is not affiliated with a city, county, state agency, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service or information reached through it to:

  • stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person;
  • locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order;
  • commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another offense;
  • make a credit, employment, tenant, housing, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decision;
  • scrape, copy, or republish the material at scale; or
  • interfere with operation, security, or availability.

3. Consumer Reporting Status

Rocklin Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Material on the pages, and results returned by a linked search provider, are not consumer reports. They may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links and Tools

Government portals, libraries, archives, courts, and sponsored search tools set their own terms, prices, privacy policies, and availability. Rocklin Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, outages, charges, data handling, or results.

5. No Warranty

The pages are provided on an as-is and as-available basis. No warranty, express or implied, promises that a fact, fee, coverage date, link, office contact, or outside search result is accurate, complete, current, or available. Confirm important matters with the custodian.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource. That includes a decision or action based on a record found through a page.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operators from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright and other applicable law. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution are welcome. Full-page republication or systematic copying is not permitted without written permission.

9. Revisions

These terms may be changed by posting a revised version here. Continued use after the revision is posted means that the updated terms are accepted.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited, with or without notice, when a user violates these terms, abuses the pages, threatens security, or interferes with other readers' use.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. California's Public Records Act is codified at Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000. California consumer privacy rights are addressed in Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq.; those business obligations do not erase a government record held by its custodian. The public-records statute governs requests to California custodians; it does not make Rocklin Residents Directory a custodian or require this private reference to create a record, answer an interrogatory, or release protected material.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The invalid provision will be applied to the extent the law permits.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about a government record should go directly to the office, court, library, or archive that holds it.
